Hagen advances to state geography bee
Nils Hagen, a fifth grader at Osakis Public School, will compete in the State Geography Bee this Friday, April 4, at Macalester College in St. Paul.
Nils Hagen, a fifth grader at Osakis Public School, will compete in the State Geography Bee this Friday, April 4, at Macalester College in St. Paul.
After winning at the District Geography, Hagen and other district winners took a state qualifying exam. The top 100 scores, including Hagen’s, advanced to the state bee.
At state, Hagen will compete in eight rounds of oral questioning given by a panel of judges. The Minnesota State Geography Bee champion will represent the state at the National bee in Washington D.C. in May.
