Paid politcal letter: Support Dist. 5 write-in

After talking with others concerning county spending, I’m urging citizens to support write-in candidate Bill Dropik for District 5 commissioner.

To the editor:

After talking with others concerning county spending, I’m urging citizens to support write-in candidate Bill Dropik for District 5 commissioner. Knowing candidate Dropik nearly my entire life, I know him to be a very hard working, honest, conservative individual. Bill didn’t join the race before the deadline, feeling he didn’t have time for the job. He feels obligated to make time after many calls of encouragement.

Write-in candidate Dropik is no stranger to business, large budgets and negotiation, having served on numerous boards while active on his farm. Bill has made many trips to our capital and Washington, D.C., working with officials supporting agriculture. Join me in supporting his energy for Douglas County.

Citizens on fixed incomes and younger people starting families need to be considered when excessive spending continues and county government keeps building a larger debt.

As individuals we all have to live within our means. Why then, when spending tax dollars, it so often seems to be an open checkbook? When spending more than what citizens can afford, then by what means do our officials propose payment?

In District 5, remind your neighbors to write in candidate Bill Dropik’s name on their ballot for commissioner.
