Through Alexandria School District 206 Community Education, the Alexandria Area Adult Basic Education (ABE) Consortium is partnering with Alexandria Technical and Community College (ATCC) to offer a free “Healthcare Prep” course at ATCC this summer.

Since this course is being offered at no cost to the first 20 qualified applicants, early registration is recommended. The registration deadline is May 23.

The Healthcare Prep course will be held at ATCC on Mondays and Wednesdays beginning June 11 and ending August 8. Course hours are 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

The Healthcare Prep curriculum, jointly developed by ATCC and ABE for this course, is designed for individuals who are considering careers in healthcare.

The Healthcare Prep course will help students develop the skills and knowledge essential to succeed in the collegiate academic setting. The curriculum includes math, study skills, reading, writing, job shadowing, medical terminology, basic nursing skills as well as information on other healthcare career options.

This is an ideal class for someone planning to pursue further education in a healthcare field.
