The Osakis softball team used a five-RBI night from Tonya Hetland in exploding for a 30-1 win over St. John’s Prep last Thursday.

Sabrina Zimmel and Dani Chisholm went 2-for-4 with a double and three RBIs each to add to the offense. Lauren Silbernick and Alex Anderson also had two hits apiece.

Osakis made things easy on Silbernick in her pitching debut by scoring six in the first, 10 in the second and 14 in the third. Silbernick went the first three innings, allowing four hits and two walks before giving way to Alida Hovey and Rachelle Rajdl to close out the game.

“We did an excellent job being patient and disciplined hitters,” head coach John Stigman said. “We didn’t chase many bad pitches today. Lauren pitched well in her first varsity start.”
