Sharon Love, 38

Sharon Christina Love was born November 3, 1973 at Scott Air Force Base, Illinois, where her father was stationed. The family moved to Germany for four years, where Sharon was introduced to her German family and her mother’s place of origin.  After returning to Scott Air Force Base for two years, her father left the Air Force and brought them back to his home state of Minnesota.

They moved to Sandstone, and Sharon graduated from high school there with the Class of 1991. After school, Sharon moved to Texas and worked as an assistant manager for a private airline company. When she moved back to Minnesota, she lived in Brainerd for a time, working for a managing firm that handled retirement funds. She then settled in rural Osakis and worked in Alexandria as a waitress for Raapers Bar and Restaurant and then took a job in Sauk Centre with Legend Insurance Company.

In June of 2007, she started her current job working for Mahowald Insurance Agency in St. Cloud. Sharon had advanced in the company to become a senior commercial account specialist.

Some of Sharon’s interests included traveling, especially taking trips riding motorcycle. She enjoyed photography and loved gardening and helping others. She also loved being with her friends and family.

She is survived by her parents, Darryl and Gisela (Krusen) Love of Pequot Lakes; sister, Susan O’Day of Crosby; paternal grandparents, Charles and Gladys Love of Wyoming, Minnesota; and aunts and uncles, Linda and Sam Thompson, Ingrid and Karlheinz Krusen; niece, Meagan Storkan; Alfred Love and family of Albert Lea, Russell Anderson and family of Lake Elmo; cousins, Jody and Steve Storkan and Chris Thompson; and special friend, Roger Schultz of Osakis.

Preceding her in death were her maternal grandparents, Fritz and Christa Krusen of Bad Schwalbach, Germany.

Memorial services were held Friday, April 27 at First Presbyterian Church in Osakis with the Rev. Tim Sutton officiating. Interment was at Pleasant Mound Cemetery in Todd County. Honorary casket bearers were Karlheinz Krusen, Wesley Smith, Randy Elletson, Ritchie Berkey, Jim Waldorf, Jody Wilkey, Kurt “Tower” Anderson, Lyle Karsch, Don Notch and Ryan Triebenbach. Active casket bearers were Sam and Chris Thompson, Bob Sardiff, Roger Schultz, Giddon Doty and LeRoy Zabel.
