Osakis senior Paul Hartmann saw a memorable senior season on the golf course pay off with an individual state tournament berth after taking fourth at the 5A meet last Thursday.
Hartmann shot an 81 with a strong finish in Benson. He overcame a triple bogey on the 10th hole by carding five straight pars to wrap up his round.
It was a continuation of what Hartmann has been doing all season for the Silverstreaks. He led the team with a 41.7 nine-hole average and was the Central Minnesota Conference individual champion to go along with many medalist rounds.
Fellow seniors Troy Asseln and Nathan Arens also competed in the section meet. Both saw their seasons come to an end as Asseln shot an 89 and Arens carded a 95.
Hartmann will battle the rest of the Class A field at Pebble Creek in Becker. The tournament is set to run on June 12-13.
