Garcia, Savageau pace Osakis at 6AA golf meet
The Osakis girls’ golf team saw its season come to an end last week at the Section 6AA tournament at the Blackberry Golf Club. The Silverstreaks shot a 368 on day one of the two-day event. That didn’t qualify them as one of the top four teams to advance to the second round.

Peyton Garcia and Annalise Savageau both advanced to play a second day individually but saw their bid at a state tournament berth come up short. Garcia shot well last Tuesday, carding an 80 after shooting an 88 on day one. Her 168 was four strokes off the final qualifying score from Savannah Stone of Pequot Lakes.
Savageau shot an 89 on day one of the meet. She came back on Tuesday and carded an 88 to wrap up the tournament with a 177. Katelyn Foster shot a 92 on Monday to account for Osakis’ third score, while Ariel Chalmers had a 99 to round out the top four scorers for the Silverstreaks.
Emily Backes and Hannah Lien also golfed for Osakis. Backes shot a 100 and Lien carded a 127 over 18 holes.
St. Cloud Cathedral won the team tournament with a two-day total of 682. Pequot Lakes shot a 689, Rocori a 690 and Becker rounded out the top four teams with a 700.
