VIDEO: Hot wheels at Roddin' Round the Lake

Hot rods on hot asphalt drove a crowd of car cravers to the streets of Osakis on Saturday for the 21st annual Roddin’ Round the Lake classic car show.

The event, presented by Central Lakes Cruzers, was attended by locals and celebrities alike – “Alf” and “Ernie” toys were spotted checking out the interiors of a few of the vehicles.

The day began with a Show-n-Shine at Central and Main, followed by a celebrity auction sponsored by the Osakis Women’s Association at Pollard Community Center.

Music from the 1950s drifted through the summer air as kids played games and horse-drawn trolley rides were offered. A parade followed the award ceremony.

Sponsors included Napa Auto Parts of Osakis, Arvig Communication Systems, First National Bank of Osakis, Osakis VFW, Osakis Area Chamber of Commerce, Walleye Lodge Pub and Grill and Nelson Men’s Club.
