More information has been released about a semitrailer crash that closed down the eastbound lanes of Interstate 94 near Osakis for several hours Friday morning.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, Tanner Hollatz of Parkers Prairie entered I-94 from the Osakis exit in a 2001 Hyundai coupe shortly after 6 a.m. and collided with the right front of an International semitrailer driven by Donald Watson of Blomkest.

The collision caused the semi to roll. It was hauling a load of grain that spilled into the median and across the eastbound lanes. I-94 was shut down, eastbound, until about 10:30 a.m.

Watson was taken to the hospital where he was treated and released, according to the State Patrol. Tanner and a passenger, Randall Gaulrapp of Parkers Prairie, were not injured. Everyone was wearing a seat belt, according to the accident report.

The State Patrol was assisted at the scene by the Douglas County Sheriff's Office, emergency response crews and the Minnesota Department of Transportation.
