Osakis firefighters respond to vehicle fire early Wednesday

Osakis firefighters responded to a vehicle fire on Interstate 94, near mile marker 110, just after midnight on October 31.
According to the Douglas County Sheriff's Office, Peterson Olivier, of Hawley, was driving a 2000 Buick LeSabre on I-94 when he noticed smoke coming from the vehicle's dash. He stopped, got out of the vehicle and flagged down passing motorists for help.
Osakis Fire Department was able to extinguish the fire, which was confined to the front end, but the car was a total loss.
