Johnson claims first Super Stock feature win
Osakis’ Alan Johnson claimed his first career Super Stock win at the Viking Speedway August 4 after a three-car battle for the win during the final lap. The 13-car field was led to the green flag by Max Dondelinger of Brainerd and Matt Miller of Glenwood, with Miller jumping into the lead from the outside position.

With the filing period now officially over, a total of 15 candidates are in the running for five Douglas County commissioner positions. The District 3 race in the Osakis area drew four candidates – Bert Pexsa, Bev Bales (incumbent), Jerry Rapp and David Erickson. The district includes the townships of Miltona, Spruce Hill, Osakis, Orange, Carlos and Belle River, and the cities of Osakis, Miltona, Nelson and Carlos.
