Sharyn Roquette, age 72, passed away at her home in Osakis on Thursday Nov. 16. Sharyn was born September 4, 1945 in Nelson, MN to Orten and Adelaide (Mckay) Mickelson. She enjoyed her high school years at Osakis participating in cheerleading, homecoming and playing clarinet. Right after graduation, Sharyn married the love of her life, Wayne Roquette, on June 23, 1963 at the First Presbyterian Church in Osakis. She was extremely passionate raising her three children. She followed them to every event and was always supportive and encouraging. For a time Sharyn worked at L & L Lettering in St. Michael, MN putting lettering on clothing. She was happiest sharing her love parenting which continued with her grandchildren. Her life was filled with caring for family and relatives as she became everyone's Mom. Sharyn enjoyed summer trips with family to area resorts and going for drives in the country including visiting family cemetery plots. She was active at the First Presbyterian Church with her welcoming nature serving as usher and Ice Breaker. Sharyn was an animal lover, especially horses and her faithful Pappillon dogs. She enjoyed reading and crocheting afghans for every member of the family. She was an avid Elvis fan along with a deep purple passion for the Minnesota Vikings. She dressed for game day and took her cheering serious with disregard for any interruptions.

Sharyn is survived by her husband, Wayne of Osakis, three children; Kevin (Rosalie) Roquette of Osakis, Jill (Todd) Holte of Redwood Falls and Rita (Dan) Vetsch of Monticello. Nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Sharyn is preceded in death by her parents, three brothers; Donald, Robert and Ronald, three sisters; Joyce Wegner, Laurel Mickelson and Myrna Garfield.

Funeral Services for Sharyn Roquette are 1:00pm Tuesday, November 21, at the First Presbyterian Church in Osakis with Rev. Randy Knuth officiating. Pallbearers are by her grandchildren; Kyle Holte, Nick, Chad, and Jeff Roquette, Jon Hinnenkamp and Katherine Vetsch. Honorary pallbearers by grandchildren are Kailey and Danielle Holte, Tiffany Hansen, Constance and Sabrina Hinnenkamp. Burial will be by her parents at the Gordon Pleasant Hill Cemetery of Osakis.

Arrangements are by the Roy-Hetland Funeral Home in Osakis.
