'Boot or Salute'

Helping drivers at the fair

Salute: Here a salute to a group of unsung heroes at the Douglas County Fair — Osakis VFW members who directed drivers where to park. This is the sixth year that members have been involved in the project. They receive $1,200 for their efforts, which goes to a very good cause — the Armed Forces Memorial Fund. And while on the topic of the VFW, be sure to stop at the club on Friday, Sept. 15 to see the POW/MIA display as part of POW/MIA Recognition Day.
