Flu spike restricts visitors at Alomere Health

Alomere Health in Alexandria has seen a recent spike in influenza cases in the region, and as a precautionary measure for patients and staff, visitor restrictions are being implemented.

Only immediate family members should visit patients, according to Emma von Felden, infection control officer at Alomere Health.

Visitors should be free from any flu-like symptoms including fever, cough, sore throat or diarrhea for a minimum of 24 hours before visiting patients.

The restrictions, implemented Jan. 22, will remain in place until further notice.
