One bright spot of saying goodbye to summer is looking forward to fall activities.
Erickson’s Petting Zoo of Osakis is offering a variety of options during its Fall Family Fun, which starts Saturday, Sept. 21 at 10 a.m. Here’s what’s happening at the farm:
Browse a wide selection of pre-picked pumpkins — including great big ones — along with squash, gourds and corn shocks for sale.
Take a tractor or hayrack ride to feed the outside animals. Erickson’s has a draft team of Haflingers — Nelly and Misty — that pull the hayrack.
Find your way through a seven-acre corn maze. There are many paths through the maze and participants are challenged to find different punch stations. Hidden in the maze is a corn tower. When you find it, you can climb up it and take a look around.
New this year for the bigger kids, is a set of inflatable Pony Hops. So, if you are too big for the pony rides, now you can have your own races. The pony rides are for children under 95 pounds ($4 per rider).
All of the animals and birds on the farm are always a hit, no matter what time of the year.
The Fall Family Fun season runs for six weekends until October 27. Erickson’s is also open during MEA, October 17-18. On Saturdays and MEA, the farm is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday hours are from noon to 5 p.m.
Admission is $8.50 per person, 2-5 years old, $6.50. Erickson’s Petting Zoo also offers group rates for school field trips. Email email@example.com for more information.
