5:30 to 7 p.m. Annual Osakis Community Halloween Party at the Osakis High School cafeteria, sponsored by the Osakis Women's Association.

4:30 to 7:30 p.m. Osakis Presbyterian Church Trunk or Treat in the church parking lot, 101 West Oak Street. All children are welcome to come trick or treating in a fun, safe environment. There will be treats given out. Bring treats to share.

Sunday, November 3

11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Head of the Lakes Resort's Chili Cook-Off. Four categories will be judged — originality, people's choice, presentation and spiciest. Judging will take place at half-time during the Vikings/Chiefs game. For more information, call 320-859-4252.

11:45 a.m. to 4 p.m. Bookmobile stops – 11:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. at Carol Radjl daycare in Nelson; 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at St. Agnes School; 1:45 to 2:30 p.m. at Community Memorial Home; 2:45 to 4 p.m. at Ed Pollard Community Center.

10 a.m. Veterans Day Program at the Osakis High School Auditorium.

Friday, November 15

5 to 9:30 p.m. A Caribbean Gala hosted by the Friends of Knute Nelson will take place at Crooked Willow, 11181 County Road 82 SE, Osakis. The event will raise funds for life-enriching programs and activities for those served by Knute Nelson. It includes a Caribbean themed dinner, a silent and live auction, entertainment by the Island Boyz, fun with the hypnotist and live auctioneer, Dan Lee, and more.
