The Alexandria Polar Plunge is back for its 14th year.
The annual event, which raises money for Special Olympics, will take place this Sunday, Feb. 23, at Arrowwood Resort on Lake Darling. The plunge is set to begin at 1 p.m.
Over the course of the last 13 years, the Alexandria plunge has raised more than $837,000. In 2019, there were 175 plungers who raised almost $65,000.
Pre-plunge check-in will take place Saturday, Feb. 22, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Copper Trail Brewing Company. On Sunday, check-in will take place from 10:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. at Arrowwood Resort and Conference Center.
To date, 154 plungers have signed up. People can still sign up and donate for Sunday's Polar Plunge by visiting the Alexandria Polar Plunge website.
