In response to the growing concerns over the coronavirus situation, events around the area are being canceled or rescheduled, and some businesses are temporarily closing or have restrictions.
As this situation is so fluid and changes are taking place constantly, the newspaper will do its best to keep this list updated.

Many services in Douglas County have been impacted and will remain in effect through Friday, April 10, at 5 p.m. To find out what has been impacted, click here to read the full story.
The Douglas County Cemetery Association Annual Meeting scheduled for Thursday, April 23, at 7 p.m. has been postponed until fall 2020. The date has yet to be determined. The new date will be sent to members via postcard, posted on dccamn.com and shared with local media when it is set.
Alex Tax and Business is open, but the lobby is closed. A drop box is available outside the door Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. In addition, if a signature is needed, clients can call and a staff member will go outside to get the signature.
Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Alexandria is suspending all church activities and worship services through April 12, including Good Friday services.
Aldi is open 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. is reserved for senior citizens, expectant mothers and those with underlying health concerns. Grocery delivery is available through the Instacart app.
Cub Foods is open 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. Each day from 6 to 7 a.m. shopping is reserved for health care professionals, first responders, senior citizens and high-risk customers. Online shopping and delivery available.
Dollar Tree is open 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Elden's Fresh Foods is open daily from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Each day from 7 to 8 a.m. is reserved for senior citizens. On-the-go groceries available for pickup or delivery.
Target is open daily from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. On Wednesday from 7 to 8 a.m., shopping is reserved for senior citizens or those with underlying health concerns. Online shopping and pickup is available.
Dollar General in Brandon is open from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. with the hour from 8 to 9 a.m. reserved for senior citizens and those with underlying health concerns.
JC's Market in Brandon is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., Saturday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Kensington Supermarket is open Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Friday from 8 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., Saturday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Grocery delivery is available.
Dollar General in Osakis is open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. with the hour from 8 to 9 a.m. reserved for senior citizens and those with underlying health concerns.
Osakis Family Foods is open from 8 a.m. to 8 pm.
The Special Memories puzzle store downtown Alexandria is tentatively set to reopen on April 11.
The recycling center at Pope Douglas Solid Waste Management is now closed.
Walmart has updated hours. Entire store is open 7 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday's from 6 to 7 a.m. is dedicated to senior citizens, including pharmacy and vision center. Pharmacy hours are 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. everyday except for Sunday, which is 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Vision center hours are Wednesday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Tuesday from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Grocery pickup available through Walmart app.
First National Bank of Osakis is restricting its lobby traffic to appointments only. Call 320-859-2101 to arrange a time. Banking business can also be done via the mobile banking app or through the website, www.fnbosakis.com.
Life Connections Pregnancy and Parenting Resource Center has restricted hours to Monday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., and Friday from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Call 320-762-1224 or email lifeconnectionsMN@gmail.com.
Alexandria Clinic is temporarily adjusting its hours and will be closing at 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, including Express Care effective March 25. Alexandria Express Care will continue to be open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday for urgent care needs. Medical professional ask that you be mindful of healthcare workers and use the eClinic at alomerehealth.com or call 320-763-5123 before you arrive at the clinic or hospital.
Affinity Plus Credit Union has closed its lobby until further notice, but is offering curbside service.
Redeemer Lutheran Church in Osakis has cancelled its foot care and toenail cutting day scheduled for April 9.
Cherry Street Books is temporarily closed. They will take book orders over the phone at 320-763-9400 or email at email@example.com. Books can be picked up curbside. Pick up hours will be 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. daily. Additionally, Saturday morning Story Time will be canceled for all of April.
Thrifty White has reduced its hours. It will be open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. It will be offering free mail delivery on maintenance medications. Call the pharmacy for more details. 320-762-1531.
The University of Minnesota Extension has cancelled all face-to-face events, meetings and courses through May 15. This includes, but is not limited to, all local 4-H meetings and events, all Master Gardener and Master Naturalist events, education workshops and more. For more information, visit extension.umn.edu.
- The Echo Press office is temporarily closed to the public. It will still be operating business as usual, the lobby will just be closed. Staff members can be available by appointment only. Call 320-763-3133.
- Viking Plaza Mall is temporarily closed. Dunham's and JoAnn's will remain open. Please contact them for store hours. In addition, the Easter Bunny event is cancelled and all future events are on hold until further notice.

Holmes City Farmers Mutual Insurance Company annual meeting is postponed until June 3.

Neighborhood National Bank lobbies are closed until further notice. Drive-up service will continue 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and Saturday 8 a.m until noon. In-office scheduled appointments will be provided for customers as needed.

Randy's Family Optical is temporarily closed and is tentatively reopening April 6.
West Central Minnesota Communities Action offices are closed to the general public for in-person walk-ins and appointments, but still available via phone, email or fax. In Alexandria, call 320-304-3458.
Pope County officials are asking members of the public to avoid in-person visit to county offices at the courthouse or other county buildings. Instead they ask that the public use mail, phone, email or other electronic means to conduct necessary business.
Runestone Electric Association has closed its lobby to the public until further notice. REA will be conducting business as normally as possible. Members can mail payments, pay online, pay over the phone or use the drop box. For more information, call 800-473-1722.
Someplace Safe will remain available for its clients. Services will look different as the agency moves to provide a majority of services through electronic means. West Central Minnesota Communities Action, Inc. has closed all of its tax cites as of March 17.
Knights of Columbus Pancake Breakfast scheduled for April 5 is canceled.
All Central Lakes Concert Association concerts through May 1 are canceled.
Villard Bingo for April is canceled.
Pope/Douglas Solid Waste Management has restricted or closed to the public the Household Hazardous Waste Facility and related services; reuse room and related services; admin office; confidential burn programs for household and business; community events and zero waste programs and services; and its Green Warriors program and services. Services that will remain open until further notice include recycling drop-off center, Waste-to-Energy facility (contracted haulers) and special burn programs.
The Spring Bash that was scheduled for April 17 has been canceled. Full refunds will be issued.
Taste of Douglas County, originally scheduled for April 6, will be postponed until a date this fall.
Someplace Safe Thrift Store is temporarily closed until May 1. No donations are being taken at this time.
The Social Security Office is temporarily closed to the public for in-person service. It is still able to provide critical services through its secure online website at www.socialsecurity.gov or by calling 1-800-772-1213.
The Electric Safety Seminar hosted by REA and ALP that was set for April 6 has been postponed.

The Alexandria Senior Center is temporarily closed.
- The Runestone Museum is temporarily closing its doors to visitors. The online store will still be open.
- Let's Get Growing scheduled for April 4 has been canceled by the University of Minnesota Extension Master Gardeners of Douglas County.
- The Runestone Community Center is closed, for now, through April 15.
- Church services around the area are being canceled. However, some will be live-streaming. Check with your church for further details.
- Alexandria Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce's Wake Up Alexandria! on Friday, April 3 has been canceled.
- The Relay for Life Pasta with a Purpose dinner and silent auction has been reschedule to Friday, May 15.
- Runestone Museum events including the 4-H in Douglas County program on Monday, April 6, have been canceled.
- The Alexandria Area YMCA has temporarily suspended all classes and membership programming, which includes its fitness center. The YMCA child care and YMCA child care at Knute Nelson will remain open at this time. Check the YMCA Facebook page or website for further information.
