The Todd County Fair begins Thursday, August 15 and runs through August 18 and this year, the community is celebrating the 130th anniversary of the local fair.

As always, there's lots to do at the Todd County Fair, everything from checking out the 4-H displays to munching on fair treats.

Thursday, August 15 is Day Care Day at the fair and special events will be held at 9 a.m. in the Entertainment Pavillion to celebrate Todd County Day Care operators. Crescent City Midway opens at 4 p.m. and the Iron Grill Cook-off fires up at 6 p.m.

On Friday, August 16, carnival, commercial and exhibit buildings open at noon. At 1 p.m. in the entertainment pavillion, Todd County's Outstanding Senior Citizen will be honored. At 6:30 p.m. in the grandstand, bull riding and mutton bustin' will be the evening's main event.

Saturday, August 17 features the first annual rib cook-off in the entertainment pavillion. Be sure to get yours at 5 p.m. At 10:30 a.m., a tractor pull is set in the grandstand. The carnival opens at noon. Master gardeners will offer free fairy garden presentations in the grandstand building at 1 and 3 p.m. From 5 to 7 p.m., a sweet corn feed will be held in the beer garden. The grandstand features a truck pull at 7 p.m.

On Sunday, August 18, an interdenominational church service will begin at noon in the entertainment pavillion. The carnival opens at noon. The Todd County Farm Family of the Year will be honored in the entertainment pavillion at 1:45 p.m. and the talent show is set to begin in the same location at 2 p.m.
