CMH News: Chocolate zucchini cake is a hit

August 26-September 1

Sunday morning a non-denominational worship service was held in the Terrace Heights Chapel led by Steve Fredrickson. Thank you to all the volunteers who helped and to those who conducted a Catholic communion service.

Monday afternoon we played bingo at Terrace Heights.

Father David Petron of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church of Osakis and St. Nicholas of Belle River celebrated mass on Tuesday morning in the Terrace Heights Chapel. The Rosary was prayed before mass. Assisting were Marilynn Grundman, Cathy Winter, Dick Daas, Mary Hunter, Pat Mohror, Loretta Becker, Phyllis Tegals and Bob Schluender.

Ladies from the Salem Lutheran Church hosted the monthly birthday party on Tuesday afternoon. Assisting and bringing angel food cakes, lemon and strawberry toppings and Cool Whip were, Joanne Clay, Ione Johnson and Sharon Iverson. Sonja Starry played piano for a sing-along.

Card and board games were played on Wednesday morning. Bingo was played at West View in the afternoon. Rev. Steve Hilde conducted a chapel service at CMH after bingo. He also led a Bible study group on Thursday afternoon.

Several ladies enjoyed a manicure on Thursday morning during Nifty Nails. Thanks to Karen Vogh and Pacey for their help. The Osakis Review was read before dinner. Thanks to Judy Buhl for helping us peel apples for our waldorf salad.

For our Apple/Zucchini Day on Thursday afternoon, we did some trivia and enjoyed a piece of chocolate zucchini cake and some waldorf salad. The Viking Library Bookmobile stopped.

Bingo was played on Friday and Saturday afternoon. Saturday morning, we made butterflies during our craft class.
