Thursday, December 13

1:15 p.m. and 7 p.m. St. Agnes School students in preschool through 6th grade will present their Christmas musical, A Piece of Christmas, at the Immaculate Conception Church. Refreshments will be served following both programs.

Friday, December 14

7 to 10 p.m. Senior Dance at Osakis VFW Club, featuring "Nite Owls."

Saturday, December 15

Noon to 2 p.m. Third annual Wreaths Across America wreath laying ceremony at Osakis Armed Forces Memorial at noon, followed by 12:20 p.m. at Calvary Cemetery, 1 p.m. at Lakeside Cemetery and 1:40 p.m. at Evergreen Cemetery.

Monday, December 17

7 p.m. Osakis High School Band Holiday Concert in the Auditorium.

Thursday, December 20

11:45 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Bookmobile stops — 11:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. at Carol Radjl daycare in Nelson; 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at St. Agnes School; 1:45 to 2:30 p.m. at Community Memorial Home; 2:45 to 4 p.m. at Ed Pollard Community Center.

Thursday, December 27

11:30 a.m. Senior Holiday Party for local seniors 60 and older at the Ed Pollard Community Center. Dinner served at noon. Sponsored by the Osakis Women's Association, the event celebrates and honors local seniors with live music, a holiday meal, door prizes and a small gift. It's free of charge but reservations are required by Dec. 20. Call 320-859-2325 weekday mornings or see Mary at the Community Center.

Al Edenloff

Al Edenloff is the news and opinion page editor for the Echo Press. He was born in Alexandria and lived most of his childhood in Parkers Prairie. He graduated with honors from Moorhead State University with a degree in mass communications, print journalism. He interned at the Echo Press in the summer of 1983 and was hired a year later as a sports reporter. He also worked as a news reporter/photographer. Al is a four-time winner of the Minnesota Newspaper Association's Herman Roe Award, which honors excellence in editorial writing.
