CMH News: Carols, cookies, lutefisk and more

Sunday morning, a non-denominational worship service was held in the Terrace Heights Chapel led by Steve Fredrickson. Thank you to all the volunteers who helped and to those who conducted a Catholic communion service.

Bingo was played at Terrace Heights on Monday afternoon.

Father David Petron of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church of Osakis and St. Nicholas of Belle River conducted a Catholic communion service Tuesday morning in the Terrace Heights Chapel. The rosary was prayed before mass. Assisting were Loretta Becker, Joyce Klimek, Marilyn Grundman, Mary Hunter, Phyllis Tegals, Dick Daas and Bob Schluender.

After mass on Tuesday morning, a group of kids from St. Agnes came up and sang for the residents.

Tuesday afternoon the VFW Ladies Auxiliary hosted a bingo game. Assisting and bringing the prizes were Marty Kern, Gayle Cahill, Karen Vogh and Julie Kakac.

Wednesday morning, Amanda Sansness' Little Stars Daycare kids visited. Bingo was played on Wednesday afternoon in West View. After bingo, a group of residents helped us decorate cookies for our Christmas party on Friday.

Wednesday evening Rev. Rich Fitzer and a group of students from Osakis Lutheran Church came up and sang Christmas songs for the residents.

Several manicures were done on Thursday morning during Nifty Nails. Thursday morning, a group of third-graders from Osakis Public Schools stopped by and caroled for the residents.

Rev. Rich Fitzer of Osakis Lutheran Church conducted a communion service in the Terrace Heights Chapel on Thursday morning. Assisting were Kearney Frank, Jim Heuer, and LaRayne Johnson. The Osakis Review was read before dinner. The Viking Library Bookmobile stopped.

Mikko Cowdery entertained at CMH on Thursday afternoon. He sang many wonderful songs.

Friday afternoon we had our Christmas party. We played a couple games of Blackout Bingo for cash or a treat. As a special treat, we served lutefisk and Christmas cookies with hot cocoa for a snack.

Bridgewell celebrated their own Christmas party on Friday afternoon, with Jilly Ramey and Karen Moen dressing up as Santa and Mrs. Claus. It was a wonderful afternoon throughout the building.

Thank you to Brooke Pfeffer, Alli Rach, Megan Piekert, Liz Drevlow and Elizabeth Pahl for bringing Christmas cards and singing for our residents Friday afternoon.

Saturday morning, we made noise makers for New Year's Eve. Bingo was played in the afternoon. Thank you to Hollie Kulzer and family, and Megan and Connor Schultz for coming in and helping Sheila on Saturday. Also, thank you to the Lipke family for coming in to sing for our residents Saturday.

Thank you to all the different groups of kids who came and sang for our residents this week. They really enjoy having kids of all ages come and visit, and we really appreciate all the groups who think of our residents this time of year!
