11:45 a.m. 3:30 p.m. Bookmobile stops — 11:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. at Carol Radjl daycare in Nelson; 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at St. Agnes School; 1:45 to 2:30 p.m. at Community Memorial Home; 2:45 to 4 p.m. at Ed Pollard Community Center.

7 p.m. Just for Kix performance at the Osakis Public Schools Auditorium.

Wednesday, January 23

5:30 to 7 p.m. First Presbyterian Church of Osakis invites everyone to its Friendship Table Meal. This month's meal will be hot beef and turkey commercials, green beans and dessert. It will take place in the church's Fellowship Hall at 101 West Oak Street. All are welcome. Free-will donations will be accepted.

Wednesday night Bean Bag League starts at Osakis VFW Club. There will be a $20 buy-in to be paid when signing up, with 100 percent payout. To join the league, contact Nichol or Chris at the VFW, 320-859-2117 or stop in the club for rules and more information.

Sunday, January 27

12:30 to 2:30 p.m. Knights of Columbus Free Throw Contest at the Osakis High School gym.

Saturday, February 9

8 to 11 p.m. Osakis High School Mid-Winter Dance in the school cafeteria.

Al Edenloff

Al Edenloff is the news and opinion page editor for the Echo Press. He was born in Alexandria and lived most of his childhood in Parkers Prairie. He graduated with honors from Moorhead State University with a degree in mass communications, print journalism. He interned at the Echo Press in the summer of 1983 and was hired a year later as a sports reporter. He also worked as a news reporter/photographer. Al is a four-time winner of the Minnesota Newspaper Association's Herman Roe Award, which honors excellence in editorial writing.
