7 to 10 p.m. The 51st annual Osakis Festival begins with music by Rob Justice at the Osakis Liquor Store.

Saturday, June 22

10 a.m. to 1 a.m. The 51st annual Osakis Festival continues with many events all day long — children's games and activities, deejay music, pedal pull, food vendors, craft sale, salad luncheon, bean bag tournament, street dance and more.

Sunday, June 23

10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The 51st annual Osakis Festival continues with activities in Park Osagi, including food and craft vendors. Also, a grand parade will take place in downtown Osakis at 1 p.m. No entry fee. To register for the parade, call Vicki Hinrichs at 320-760-4684.

3 to 6 p.m. (after the Osakis Festival parade) First Presbyterian Church of Osakis invites the public to its annual Pie and Ice Cream Social. In addition to homemade pie and ice cream, barbecues, hot dogs, chips and watermelon will be served.

Al Edenloff

Al Edenloff is the news and opinion page editor for the Echo Press. He was born in Alexandria and lived most of his childhood in Parkers Prairie. He graduated with honors from Moorhead State University with a degree in mass communications, print journalism. He interned at the Echo Press in the summer of 1983 and was hired a year later as a sports reporter. He also worked as a news reporter/photographer. Al is a four-time winner of the Minnesota Newspaper Association's Herman Roe Award, which honors excellence in editorial writing.
