Thursday, March 15

6 p.m. The Osakis Hunger Coalition invites everyone to join a packing event at the Osakis Public School. The packing for Backpack Attack will start at 6 p.m.

Saturday, March 17

8 a.m. to 11 p.m. St. Patty's Day Bash and Parade at the Corral Saloon and Eatery in Nelson. Food, green beer, drink specials start at 8 a.m. Bean bag tournament, grand parade with prizes (1 p.m.), Livewire band, keg throwing contest, meat raffle, music from Blonde and the Bohunk and Contention, costume contest with prizes. Activities both inside and out. Sober drivers are available.

Saturday, March 24

9 a.m. to noon. Osakis Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts will be going around town asking for food shelf donations.

7 p.m. Ham and Turkey Bingo, sponsored by Villard American Legion, at the Methodist Church in Villard. Door prizes. Cost is 50-cents per bingo card or three for $1. Proceeds go toward community projects.

Al Edenloff

Al Edenloff is the news and opinion page editor for the Echo Press. He was born in Alexandria and lived most of his childhood in Parkers Prairie. He graduated with honors from Moorhead State University with a degree in mass communications, print journalism. He interned at the Echo Press in the summer of 1983 and was hired a year later as a sports reporter. He also worked as a news reporter/photographer. Al is a four-time winner of the Minnesota Newspaper Association's Herman Roe Award, which honors excellence in editorial writing.
