Osakis man injured in boat crash
Travis Ronald Kluver, 26, of Osakis was among four people injured in a boat crash Saturday.
Two people were killed in the crash.
According to the Douglas County Sheriff's Office, the victims were Nicole Marie Getz, 27, and Mathew Paul Spletzer, 30, both of Alexandria.
Along with Kluver, the following people were transported to Douglas County Hospital with non-life threatening injuries: Michael Robert Harbets, 33, of Alexandria; Tanya Marie Prescott, 29, of Alexandria; and James Dylan Holm, 17, of Alexandria.
At 6:19 p.m. Saturday, law enforcement responded to a report of a boat accident near the Lake Victoria public access.
According to the sheriff's office, whoever was driving the boat apparently lost control of it and struck several docks and boat lifts, along with several trees on shore, before coming to a stop in some additional trees.
Deputies found three people ejected from the boat and three others still in the boat.
Getz was pronounced dead at the scene and Spletzer was transported to the hospital where he later died.
The 24-foot boat was owned by Harberts and sustained extensive damage.
