Douglas County Democrats will gather on Tuesday, March 1 at 6:30 p.m. in the Alexandria Technical and Community College, 700 South Wing, Room 743.

At the caucus, attendees will learn about this year’s candidates and cast their 2016 presidential preference ballot for Hillary Clinton or Bernie Sanders.

They will also debate resolutions that any caucus attendee may introduce for possible inclusion into the Minnesota DFL party’s platform and elect new precinct chairs and delegates for the April 7 Douglas County DFL convention.

The caucuses will be called to order at 7 p.m. sharp. After brief comments and instructions by the caucus convener, attendees will meet in individual precincts in smaller rooms where participants will elect officers and convention delegates and vote on resolutions.

The ATCC South Wing is located at the corner of 18th Avenue and Jefferson Street. Parking is available in the ATCC west or south lots and on the streets. Entry is either through the 18th Avenue entrance or the law enforcement training center entrance.

Those unable to attend the caucuses may still ask to be a delegate to the county convention by filling out the Absentee Participation Form (formerly the Letter Nomination Form) available at www.dfl.org/about-our-party/caucuses-conventions.

This form can be mailed but must be delivered prior to Tuesday, March 1. The mailing address is: Ruth Obert, 1933 Darling Heights Place NW, Alexandria, MN 56308.

The form may also be delivered by a third party to the precinct registration table by 6:30 p.m. on March 1.
