Vandals damage golf course

The Osakis Police Department is investigating acts of vandalism that caused between $6,000 and $7,000 in damage at the Osakis Country Club on Sunday, July 2.

Golf course owners told police that at about 12:30 p.m., a group of five men, approximately 30 to 45 years old, and two boys, about 11 years old, came out to golf.

They left one power golf cart in a swamp, broke the hood on another cart and damaged several items on the course.

Two of the men were reportedly dressed in "Scottish looking" golf attire with knickers and hats. "They were very noticeable," said the owners on the country club's Facebook page.

Anyone with information about who the individuals may be is urged to call the Osakis Police Department at (320) 859-2550.
