A homeowner in Orange Township heard a "loud boom" prior to discovering his garage was on fire Wednesday night in Orange Township.

Charles Maher was inside his residence at approximately 6:20 p.m. when he heard the noise. When he looked outside, he spotted flames coming from a detached garage on his property.

The Osakis Fire Department responded to the fire at 7131 County Road 3 SE and put out the fire.

The garage was deemed a total loss, according to the Douglas County Sheriff's Office, and the cause of the fire is unknown. No foul play is suspected.

North Memorial Ambulance and the sheriff's office also responded to the fire.
