Two Osakis sisters want to help residents get healthy — one shake at a time.

Hannah Schad, a 2012 Osakis graduate, and her sister, Holly, a 2014 graduate, opened their new shop, Empower Nutrition, this past January.

The sisters serve up Herbalife shakes, teas, coffee and more, and are excited to be in their hometown.

Holly and Hannah said they love the support they've received so far from the community and its residents and they're impressed with how many people have reached out to them.

"It's taking Minnesota nice to the next level," said Hannah.

Prior to opening the shop in Osakis, Holly had a shake shop in Wadena. After moving back to Osakis, she told Hannah she wanted to start a shake up in Osakis again. They said when they were in high school, there was an Herbalife shake shop, Crave, in Osakis that they loved and used to go to frequently.

"After I told Hannah, she immediately asked me, 'Can I do it with you?' " Holly said.

The pair started looking for locations and Holly came across the space at 201 Central Ave., the former site of PhysioLab, and after checking it out, told her sister, "This looks like it could be the one."

Holly explained that the two had to go through the proper permitting process and follow the guidelines not only set by the Minnesota Department of Health, but also Herbalife. After all their T's were crossed and I's dotted, Hannah and Holly remodeled the space themselves, with the help of family and friends, bought all the Food Service of America approved equipment and were finally ready to open their shop.

Empower Nutrition offers healthy meal replacement shakes, hot and cold teas and coffee, protein bars, snacks, as well as a skin care line, hair products and vitamins, all made by Herbalife.

They said their products are for all ages and all body types.

"Anybody is welcome," said Hannah, with Holly adding, "It's for everybody."
