Get ready for the rodeo

Calling all children:

Get ready to ride to the seventh annual Bike Rodeo and Safety Day in Osakis.

It will take place Sunday, June 2 from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Osakis Public School south parking lot. Registration begins at 12:50 p.m.

The Osakis Police Department is sponsoring the free event, in cooperation with the Douglas County Sheriff's Office, Jake's Bikes and North Memorial Ambulance.

Children can test their biking skills on obstacle courses, receive a free bike helmet after visiting with North Ambulance, and register to win a bike and lots of other prizes (must be present to win).

Bike maintenance and inspections will be provided by Jake's Bikes.

The Douglas County Sheriff's Office will provide K-9 demonstrations. (No stunt rider show this year.)

Organizers are expecting a big turnout. Last year, more than 125 participants attended the rodeo.
