From building structures out of noodles to complete a science challenge to presenting theatrical performances, students at St. Agnes School in Osakis showcased some of the things they learned May 17.
The annual "Celebration of Learning" invited parents, grandparents and special guests to discover the many activities and projects St. Agnes students are involved in.
Each grade showcased a performance or presentation for their guests. Projects were also on display throughout the hallways for guests to browse.
Initially, the Celebration of Learning began as an art fair but now focuses on showcasing what students are learning in the classroom by bringing the content to life through plays, songs and other activities.
This year, kindergarteners sang a song, "Holo Amigos" and presented a play, "The Glum Princess."
First- and second-graders performed a skit, "Aladdin and the Magic Pickle Jar."
Students in third and fourth grade showed science challenges they solved them.
Fifth- and sixth-graders presented classroom displays.
A science fair featuring the work of third through sixth-graders took place in the lunchroom. Just like the actual scientific method, their projects included a hypothesis, experiment, results and conclusion.
