Health Partners quote of $61,282 for health insurance for the Osakis School District staff was approved by the School Board at its Monday, May 13 regular meeting.
Superintendent Randy Bergquist told the board this is a zero increase for the coming year, and the company pledged a cap of 9 percent for the following year.
The School Board approved hiring Dylan Kohorst as assistant baseball coach at per Master Agreement amount of $923.
Amanda Christianson was hired as the Junior High softball coach at per Master Agreement amount of $2,575.
DeLores Butkowski was hired as a summer custodial aide for 20 hours per week at $13.48 per hour.
A motion was made to internally post the position of 50 percent athletic director. The board discussed making the position a full time AD-community ed. director. Outgoing AD Brad Hoffarth, who will be the new high school principal starting June 1, will do the scheduling for next school year in August.
The following gifts were accepted by the School Board: Larry Christensen, $1,000; Jim and Sharon Fearing, $200; First National Bank of Osakis $2,000; Osakis Lions Club, $750, all for scholarships; Monica Klimek $189.05 for medicine balls; girls basketball activity account, $3,635 and boys basketball activity account for $3,635, both for a shooting machine.
Elementary Principal Shad Schmidt reported on the May events on the calendar, and the Win the Day program. Emily Dierks of Mrs. Jennings fifth grade was the May winner.
High School Principal Tim Roggenbuck reported that scheduling has been completed for next year. Senior Awards Night will be Monday, May 29, 2020 at 7 p.m.
Graduation will be Friday, May 24, 2020 at 7 p.m. Seniors will have graduation practice on Thursday, May 23, 2020 then will be finished with school.
