Propane and diesel fuel leaked from a propane truck following a rollover Thursday morning, causing a Douglas County road to be shut down.

The liquid propane delivery truck rolled over in the northbound ditch off of Douglas County Road 2, south of Lake Ellen Road SE, at about 8 a.m. Thursday, July 11.

The truck's driver, Michael Kugel, 38, of Osakis, was able to exit the vehicle after the crash, according to the Douglas County Sheriff's Office, and was taken to Alomere Hospital in Alexandria by North Memorial Ambulance for non-life-threatening injuries.

Once the truck was lifted upright, it was towed to Pope County Co-op in Villard to off-load the liquid propane.

In addition to the sheriff's office and North Memorial Ambulance, Osakis Fire and first responders and the Minnesota State Patrol responded to the crash. It is under investigation by the sheriff's office and the state patrol's commercial vehicle division.
