State Sen. Bill Ingebrigtsen, R-Alexandria, will serve on the Senate’s Human Services Reform Finance and Policy Committee in 2020.

Ingebrigtsen represents District 8, which includes the Osakis area.

“As one of the largest items of our state budget, health and human services has been an absolute mess for Minnesota over the past few years," Ingebrigtsen said. "Whether it's been childcare fraud, DHS overpayments, data breaches or corrupt cronyism, the whole budget section is in desperate need of repair."

In addition to serving on the Senate’s Human Services Reform Committee, he also serves as chairman of the Environment and Natural Resources Committee, as vice chairman on the Finance Committee, and as a member of the Capital Investment and Judiciary and Public Safety Committees.

This past summer, Ingebrigtsen was also named to a public safety working group that was formed to hold hearings and issue a report on police-involved deadly force encounters.
