Girls Basketball: Osakis can't keep up with 18-win Swanville
The Osakis girls basketball team (5-17) knew it would have its hands full with the Swanville Bulldogs (18-2) on Tuesday night as the Silverstreaks saw a two-game winning streak snapped when they fell 62-36.
The Silverstreaks were led by freshman guard Alexis Johanson's 13 points, four steals and three assists. Junior center Madisen Johanson had eight points and 11 rebounds.
"A tough first half for the girls tonight," Osakis head coach Pat Kalpin said. "We worked the ball and took good shots. They just didn't fall. On the other side, Swanville shot the ball really well the first half."
Osakis shot only 29 percent from the field and made 4-of-18 three-pointers.
"I was happy with the effort," Kalpin said. "Sometimes, you just run into teams that shoot well, which was the case (Tuesday). We need to regroup and get ready for our game against Upsala on Friday night."
