Sousa and his band to perform. Lieut. Sousa and his band will hold a great concert at Glenwood Thursday, June 26, a first to be held in our local area. Sousa has just engaged two vocal soloists for the forth-coming transcontinental tour and has also added a number of important instrumental soloists to add diversity to the world famous band program. Tickets are $1.00, $1.50 and $2.00, $.50 for children, plus war tax. For reservations, write to O. B. Wollan, Glenwood.
County graduation exercises to be held. The county graduation exercises will be held at the Alexandria high school auditorium this Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock. President J. C. Brown of the St. Cloud Normal will deliver the commencement address to 137 eighth grade graduates.

Class of 1919 to hold reunion. The Osakis High School Class of 1919 will celebrate its 50th anniversary on Saturday, July 5, 1969. There were 13 graduates and one post-graduate that year. All the living members of the class are expected to return to Osakis for the reunion. A reception will be held at the school from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. and a banquet at the Colonial Club at 6:30 that same evening.
Full year kindergarten classes to be held here. A full year of kindergarten beginning this fall for pupils in the Osakis Public Schools was announced this week by Supt. C. F. Omacht. The Minnesota Department of Education has approved the facilities and program.
Camilla Bock in Region Dairy Princess contest. As a result of being a runner up in the 1969 Douglas County Dairy Princess contest, Camilla Bock of rural Osakis, will be entered in competition in the Region III contest at Long Prairie on June 25 and 26.

Skramstad wins 1994 Miss Osakis crown. Susie Skramstad, the 17-year-old daughter of Gary and Janet Skramstad, was crowned Miss Oskis Friday night during a coronation ceremony at Osakis High School Jenny Hawkins was named first princess and Charity Pfeffer was named second princess in the scholarship pageant which was hosted by the Osakis Women's Association. This year's theme was "Make Osakis Roar in '94!"
Chamber seeks funds for track renovation. Local funds are needed to make the "Rails to Trails" railroad track renovation project a reality. The Osakis Chamber of Commerce discussed options of how to generate local support for the program at its monthly board meeting June 13 at the Visitor and Heritage Center.
Choices of Champions. Summer day retreat to be held Aug. 3 in Osakis at Park Osagi. Summer day retreats provide a fun, educational learning experience that will encourage children to get on the right track to eating right and feeling great. The cost of the retreat is $1. Scholarships are available upon request.

Chamber to close office. In a continuing struggle to provide the best service it can to its community, the Osakis Chamber will eliminate its office at the Osakis Information Center. While the office - including the Information Center building - will close, the Chamber as an organization will continue to operate.
Community members lend a hand. Over the past few years, individuals have seen significant erosion of shoreline banks and loss of vegetation. After looking into the concern, Todd County is working to revitalize Battle Point Park on Lake Osakis. To show support, community members have volunteered to planting the 1,000 feet of shoreline on the peninsula. The restoration will provide a beautiful place for community members to enjoy nature at its best from sun-up to sun-down.
Osakis Starz shine. The Osakis Starz 12U volleyball team won the Osakis tournament June 15. They also took first place i;n the Melrose tournament held May 16. They will represent Osakis at the Star of the North Games in St. Cloud, June 20-21.
