The Region 16C amateur baseball tournament is set, and the Osakis Hawks earned one of the four byes due to their solid regular season.

Osakis won the Resorters League with an 11-1 record this summer. The Hawks will now turn their attention to the playoffs, where they play the winner of Frazee-Vergas and Ashby on July 28 at 2 p.m. in Dent. Frazee-Vergas and Ashby play at 5 p.m. the day before when the tournament opens up on July 27 at Pelican Rapids.

Those first-round games on July 27 get going with an 11 a.m. game between the Alexandria Black Sox and Long Prairie Predators. Pelican Rapids takes on Kensington at 8 p.m. that day and Sauk Centre plays Millerville at 2 p.m. All those games are played in Pelican Rapids.

Urbank-Parkers Prairie, Fergus Falls and Dent join Osakis in earning byes through the first round. Fergus Falls will play the winner of Alexandria and Long Prairie on Sunday at 2 p.m. in Pelican Rapids.

Urbank-Parkers Prairie plays the winner of Pelican Rapids and Kensington at 5 p.m. in Pelican Rapids on Sunday. Dent takes on the winner of Sauk Centre and Millerville at 5 p.m. in Dent on July 28.

The Region 16C Tournament runs through Aug. 10. The first-round games are a single-elimination format, with the tournament moving to double-elimination after that. The championship is scheduled for Aug. 10 at 5 p.m. in Pelican Rapids.
