The 38th annual Lake Osakis Lions Walleye Tournament will take place on June 16 on Lake Osakis, with first place reeling in a maximum $8,000 prize.

The tournament has changed to a one-day event, and it will take place from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. The weigh-in headquarters will be at the city dock, on the south side of Lake Osakis, where contestants will start and finish the day.

Registration must be received by 5 p.m. on June 15, and the field is limited to the first 100 two-person teams. The fee is $325 per team, which includes entry into the Large Walleye Contest.

The $8,000 grand prize is based on 100 teams entering, with all finishers in the top 10 earning payoffs that decrease proportionately according to the number of entrants.

Additionally, the largest walleye will earn a $2,000 prize, while the second largest walleye nets a $500 reward. A $100 cash prize will be awarded for the largest Northern Pike over five pounds, as well.
