The Osakis boys basketball team put up big numbers in its 75-55 win over Staples-Motley (2-5) on Thursday night.

The Silverstreaks saw the return of Daniel Savageau after a minor injury at the Granite City Classic last Friday night. He scored a team-high 14 points with two rebounds and two steals.

Kobie Lara continued his strong season with 12 points and six steals. Luke Imdieke turned in an impressive performance with 10 points and five assists.

Osakis outscored Staples-Motley 50-18 in the first half. Despite the Cardinal’s effort to make a comeback, the lead was too big for the Silverstreaks to lose.

"It was an excellent first half as we played with tremendous energy and got out in transition," head coach Matt Hoelscher said. "We get to the rim and the free-throw line. Our defense was swarming the first half. We came out with the same intensity the second half but we were missing those shots we made earlier. We had some bad defensive possessions and let them climb back in it. To staples credit, they didn't give up and made some big threes."

The Silverstreaks are 9-1 on the season and will travel to Royalton (2-6) on Tuesday night.
