Osakis’ defense made things easy on the Silverstreaks on Tuesday in a 53-24 win over Royalton.

Osakis (10-1, 2-0 Prairie Conference) held the Royals (2-8, 0-2 Prairie) to just eight points in the first half. That helped make up for a tough shooting night where the Silverstreaks hit just 36% (18-49) from the field.

“It was a weird game as there wasn't a lot of flow due to turnovers, quick shots by us, and long possessions by Royalton which prevented us from creating the tempo we wanted for the majority of the game,” Osakis head coach Matt Hoelscher said. “We didn't shoot very well, and with the style we play by taking shots early in the offense if we're open, it forced us to rush possessions to make up for our lack of production.”

Hoelscher said they were fortunate that the Royals missed some open shots that could have made it a closer game.

Sophomore guard Bauer Klimek was the Silverstreaks’ only player in double figures with 12. Luke Imdieke added eight points and five assists, and Kobie Lara had seven points, 10 rebounds and four steals.
