The Osakis girls basketball team stymied Paynesville on Tuesday night to win its fourth game of the season in a 62-30 final.

The Bulldogs (1-12) shot just 16.1% (9-56), while the Silverstreaks (4-7) countered with a 43.8% shooting night (21-48), including knocking down seven threes.

“This was a nice, solid win for the girls tonight,” Osakis head coach Pat Kalpin said. “It took us a bit to get into a rhythm offensively, but the last part of the first half and the second half I thought we did a nice job on both ends of the court. We were able to pick them up in the full court and disrupt them offensively.”

Ten different players scored for Osakis. Alexis Johanson had 15 points and eight rebounds. Alexa Lien added 13 points. Maddie Hentges led Paynesville with 10.

“We were very pleased with our effort on both ends of the court,” Kalpin said. “We still have to clean little things up offensively and take care of the ball, but the effort is there. It was a good team win with everyone contributing in a positive manner."
