The Osakis and Minnewaska girls tennis teams are the favorites to make it back to the Section 6A championship match, and both programs made easy work of their tournament openers on Friday.

The Silverstreaks beat MACCRAY 7-0, while the Lakers beat Yellow Medicine East by that same score.

Osakis got every win in straight sets. Tia Dykema, Mara VanNyhuis, Camryn Hoffarth and Alexa Lien won in the singles lineup. Kennedy George and Larissa Hoffarth took the first doubles spot. Sydney Rach and Kadyn Triebenbach won at No. 2 doubles, and Lexi Spychalla and Helena Zajac did not lose a game at third doubles.

Things came even easier for Minnewaska against YME. The Lakers did not drop a game at any match. Danielle Thorfinnson, Alissa Thorfinnson, Karra Hanson and Addy Randt won in the singles lineup.

Greta Reichmann and Annika Randt anchored the doubles lineup at the No. 1 spot. Maddie Thorfinnson and Olivia Richards won at second doubles, and Maddi Kluver and Haylee Wildman won at third doubles.

The Section 6A winner will be decided on Tuesday. The semifinals and finals will be played at the Courts Plus Fitness Center in Fargo.
