The Osakis wrestling team went to the Bertha-Hewitt-Verndale-Parkers Prairie Triangular for its lone competition of the week on Dec. 3 and suffered three losses at the tri.

It was a chance to match up against some good competition as third-ranked Minnewaska beat the Silverstreaks in a 63-14 match. Pequot Lakes won a 48-28 final against Osakis and B-H-V-PP won 58-18.

Carsten Jacobson, Kale Drevlow and Tyson Hagedon got the three wins for Osakis against B-H-V-PP. All three of those came by fall. Jacobson added a 6-4 win at 138 pounds against Minnewaska, and Logan Grove (113, fall, 0:43) and Nathan Kulzer (145, TF, 16-0) got the Silverstreaks’ other two wins against the Lakers.

The match was closer against Pequot Lakes. Jacob Taplin got a 5-3 win at 106 pounds, and Grove added a pin in 2:53 at 113 to give Osakis a 9-0 lead early. Pequot Lakes responded with three straight forfeit wins before Jacobson added to his 3-0 day with an 8-7 decision win.

Kulzer added a 10-0 major decision win at 145. Hunter Harlow won by fall in 1:16 at 170 pounds, and Brock Faber pinned his man in 51 seconds at 220, but Pequot Lakes was too deep around those wins for the Silverstreaks.
