The Osakis wrestling team finished off its week by going to the Barnesville Invite on Saturday and coming back with a ninth-place finish in an 11-team field.
The Silverstreaks scored 44 total points. Bertha-Hewitt-Verndale-Parkers Prairie won the invite with 192. Hibbing was second at 155.5 and Fargo Davies was third at 123.
Osakis was led by a second-place finish from Logan Grove at 113 pounds. He made it through to the championship, where he ran into Deagen Captain of B-H-V-PP. Captain won the title match with a pin in 3:37.
Osakis had four top-six finishes overall. Jacob Taplin finished fourth at 106 pounds. Carsten Jacobson was also fourth at 138 pounds, and Brock Faber finished sixth at 220.
B-H-V-PP loaded up on top-six finishes. Aiden Larson (220), Gideon Ervasti (195) and Craig Orlando (285) joined Captain in winning their weight classes. Orlando pinned his match in the championship match in just 17 seconds.
Bennet Arceneau was third at 106. Eli Eggert was second at 120, and Reese Thompson was fourth at 126 pounds. Justin Koehn finished fifth at 132. Jason Koehn was third at 145, and Brock Peterson did the same at 160 pounds.
Mason Schroeder was third at 170, and teammate Hayden Captain was fifth in that same weight class. Hunter Dean was third at 182, and Carter Rokes was fifth there.
Tyler Eggert made it a 1-2 finish for B-H-V-PP at 195 by taking second behind Ervasti. Jaden Finck rounded out the top-six placers for the team with a fourth-place finish at 220.
