The Osakis wrestling team is in a position where filling the whole lineup is hard to do each night, which is why going 2-0 at the Ortonville Triangular on Jan. 14 was noteworthy for the Silverstreaks.

In addition to beating Luverne 54-24, Osakis also took down Ortonville by a 45-30 final.

The Silverstreaks got off to good starts in both matches. Jacob Taplin won a 5-2 decision at 106 pounds against Ortonville before Logan Grove (113, 0:41) and Gaven Cimbura (120, 3:24) both got pins to build up a 15-0 lead. Nathan Kulzer also got a pin at 138 pounds in 2:57.

Osakis took advantage of some empty spots in the lineup for Ortonville after that. The Silverstreaks got forfeit wins from Carsten Jacobson, Kaleb Helberg, Ryan Milhausen and Clayton Neihaus to wrap up the team win.

Against Luverne, Taplin won by fall in 1:14 at 106 pounds, and Grove made it 12-0 Silverstreaks after a forfeit win at 113. Luverne responded with a forfeit win and two straight pins, but Osakis took the next four matches.

Jacobson started the run with a pin in 3:20 at 138 pounds. Kulzer got a forfeit win at 145, and Kale Drevlow (152, fall, 2:20) and Helberg (160, fall, 0:40) both got pins.

Neihaus (182) and Nathan Bjerk (220) added forfeit wins later in the lineup, and Grant Winkle finished off the win with a pin in 2:54 at heavyweight.
